Teachers who are governors have a crucial role on the governing bodies of schools, colleges and academies. Through this course, the NUT seeks to support you in your role.

The course aims to:

• extend your knowledge of the role and remit of the teacher as governor;
• promote your confidence and develop your skills, particularly in handling governing body meetings; and
• provide information on some of the main issues affecting teachers in schools, including salary matters, appointments and promotion procedures, conditions of service, budgets and equal opportunities.
