Responses to DfE pension contribution increase consultation
The Department for Education previously issued a consultation on increasing employee contribution rates to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme. This section contains the original consultation document and responses from the NUT and the joint teachers’ union response (also written by the NUT).

This document gives the revised Teachers’ Pension Scheme actuarial reduction factors for ARB pensions payable on or after this date.
This change of actuarial reduction factors is not retrospective in effect.

Pension Increase 2011
There will be a 3.1 per cent increase in teachers' pensions from April 2011.
Members who retired part-way through the year will receive a proportionate increase.
Changes to State Pension Age
The Pensions Act 2011 accelerates increases in the state pension age. The state pension age for women will reach 65 by November 2018 and the state pension age for men and women will reach 66 by October 2020. The document shows state pension ages for those in the transition period.
