Political Fund Rules
The Union established a political fund in 2008 following a ballot of members.
There are statutory rules for union political funds generally, which the NUT is required, by law to adopt with the approval of the Trade Union Certification Officer. These rules can be accessed through the links below.
Additionally the Union has its own rules limiting the use of an NUT Political Fund within the broader framework of the statutory rules. The NUT Rules are.designed to ensure the continued independence of the NUT from political parties. NUT Conference has further limited the use of the NUT fund to campaigning against political parties and their candidates who promote racist, fascist and similar views.
