The Daily Telegraph and Aviva 'School Sport Matters' Awards 2011
Entries are now open for the seventh annual Aviva and Daily Telegraph School Sport Matters Awards, a celebration of exemplary practice in PE and the delivery of sport in school, taking place in Autumn 2011. Honouring the best schools, teachers, teams and individuals in the country, the NUT are proud to support the Awards for a second year and encourage schools to submit their stories of success in sport, whether it's a team who never gives up whether they win or lose; the tireless efforts of an unsung teacher or volunteer; or the dedication invested into sport at your school. New for the School Sport Matters Awards in 2011 is the addition of the Primary School of the Year award, which is added to the ten other categories including "Male Pupil" and "Female Pupil" of the year, "Team of the Year", "Aviva Unsung Hero" and "Contribution to School Sport". Shortlisted entrants are invited to attend a lunchtime awards ceremony in London, where guests include sports personalities previously including Olympians Dame Kelly Holmes, Sally Gunnell, Tom Daley, Christine Ohuruogu, Gail Emms, Nathan Cleverly, and Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson.
Submissions are now open for pupils and schools teaching between ages 5 and 18. More information can be found on The Daily Telegraph website.
