Performance Management Policy
The NUT has prepared model Performance Management policy for schools. It is strongly recommended for use by schools in implementing revised Performance Management arrangements set out in the Education (School Teacher Performance Management) (England) Regulations 2006.
The NUT believes that its model Performance policy and Classroom Observation Protocol provides the best way of maintaining professional relationships between all teachers in each school, including head teachers and those in the leadership group. The NUT model policy will enable schools to provide the best possible professional development and support for all teachers. Extensive guidance on the application of the 2006 Performance Management Regulations are accessible from this site.
