NUT health and safety representatives in all schools have an essential role to play in monitoring the conditions in which teaching and learning take place.

The course aims to:

• help you to develop the knowledge and skills to carry out your role effectively;
• brief you thoroughly on your rights and functions as health and safety representative;
• give you a clear understanding of the basic framework of health and safety law; and
• give you practical support and up-to-date information on the most commonly raised areas of health and safety.
