NEC Conference

NATIONAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE: 14-15 JULY 2012
The National Education Conference 2012 will be held at Stoke Rochford Hall over the weekend of 14-15 July 2012. The NEC provides the opportunity for members to discuss professional issues with colleagues from all parts of England and Wales and from all sectors of education.
Conference Programme
The theme of this year’s Conference is Speaking Up for Schools. The Conference will explore Government education initiatives and will discuss alternative ideas about what works in practice in schools. Confirmed speakers: include education campaigner Melissa Benn, author of ‘School Wars: the Battle for Britain’s Education’ and education campaigner; and Alison Peacock, Head Teacher and leader of the Cambridge Primary Review National Network. There will also be a choice of workshops.
How to Book
Nominations from divisions and associations should be sent on the designated form to arrive at the Education and Equalities Department as soon as possible (marked for the attention of NEC Team, Education and Equalities Department) and not later than Friday, 25 May 2012. Applications from self-funded NUT members will also be accepted.
A separate form should be completed for each delegate accompanied by the Conference fee of £275.00 per person. Please note reservations will not be made without receipt of the fee.

Accommodation

Please follow on-screen instructions to make your booking. The Mersey Partnership has advised that credit card details are used to guarantee your room only and full payment is expected on arrival at the hotel. Alternatively, you can request a pro-forma invoice that must be paid in full at least 2 weeks prior to arrival.
To amend or cancel your booking (subject to hotels cancellation policy), you may login and enter your booking reference & password.
Alternatively, you may contact 0151 237 3938 and speak to a member of staff in the Convention Bureau. However, the Bureau highly recommends booking online as this is the most secure form of making a reservation.

This year’s Disabled Teachers Conference will be held on Saturday 13 June at Hamilton House from 11am – 3pm.
National Education Conference: 11-12 July 2009
The National Education Conference 2009 will be held at Stoke Rochford Hall, the Union's training centre, near Grantham in Lincolnshire, over the weekend of Saturday, 11 July and Sunday, 12 July. The Conference fee includes overnight accommodation for the evenings of Friday, 10 July and Saturday, 11 July.
