Academy Representatives - AC1/11
Representatives in academies have a very important role in safeguarding the pay and conditions and professional entitlements of their members and making representations about educational issues.
The course aims to:
- explore how to advise, support and represent members;
- show you negotiating techniques;
- show you how to manage issues of concern collectively;
- explore current issues and their implications for NUT members;
- help you move on to local officer roles; and
- show you strategies to manage your NUT representative role alongside the demands of your professional role.

Who should attend?
Representatives in academies and schools designated to become academies. Priority for course places will be given to representatives in operational academies.
Where is the course held?
At the NUT’s national training centre, Stoke Rochford Hall, near Grantham in Lincolnshire.
